Re: YouTube
Wed, January 17, 2007 - 9:51 AMOkay so the next question is WHY does this 10 sliver of acting have such an intense effect on us? I mean really! It's not that other classic moments in film and tv havent evoked strong reactions to me. But nothing, absolutely nothing hits me like the closing sequence of 6FU. Here's my 2¢...
I got ambushed last night by an old favorite - the last 10 minutes of 6 Feet Under. I was totally bummed when the series came to an end. I'd followed it religiously since the 1st episode after all. And at the same time I was also sorta getting
tired of some of the characters endless whining and doing the same
shit over and over. I liked that claire started putting things together
towards the end. I wanted to see more of nate's last girlfriend
maggie, georges daughter. She seemed like a really complex character.
I wanted to know what happened to that misfit neice in oregon who gave
david the picture that solved Lisa's murder... there was just so much!
I remember the finale aired like 4 days after Nanette died and it just
fuckin wrecked me. When I watched it last night the thing that fucked
me up was Ted coming back 20 years later. Funny how this show nails
all my demons. And yet it's reassuring that almost everyone I sent
this clip out to wrote back cursing me with tears running down their
faces.
It's nice to be normal. -

Don't fool yourself Babe...
For me it's the ending. I don't do endings well. They fuck me up completely for days, weeks, years even.
I watched the ending several times and sobbed every time. I haven't seen it again since, but whenever I think of it I get incredibly sad all over again.
These people were a part of my life for years and they are gone.
It sucks!
When I was watching the re-runs on Bravo this weekend, I was sad knowing their fate.
